Hi, and welcome to my new online digs. It’s so nice that you stopped by!
This site’s main job right now is to be the online home for my portfolio — to aid and abet me in my current employment seeking endeavours. My intention, however, is to begin to make it a much more active journal and evolving hub-of-record for things related to design, culture, and art that I’m getting inspired by these days.
But for now please enjoy this “Hello World” post and do explore the site. Your comments and feedback are always ever so welcome, dear reader.
In case you’re interested, this was my first time developing a site in WordPress. I used a starter theme called Roots, which incorporates current best-practices frameworks like HTML 5 Boilerplate and Twitter Bootstrap, and provides a relatively clean, blank canvas from which to customize and develop a WordPress site. Choosing this path for the development of this site meant that I got to add PHP, LESS, and the Bootstrap and WordPress zeitgeists to my personal learning curve, but it seemed like a very worthwhile challenge I was keen to bite into. I had seen firsthand the power of Bootstrap as a rapid prototyping and development tool while I was interning at Normative earlier this year, and I was spoiling for an opportunity to begin learning to wrangle it. I’m still definitely deep in “hack” territory when it comes to development, but I’ve really enjoyed the learning and growth I’ve experienced getting this site rebooted.
That being said, I’m also looking forward to it’s ongoing development, so please don’t be shy with the feedback.
Thanks for popping in!
